ABOUT OUR DEANERY

Thyateira-Deanery

The Deanery is under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate (Constantinople-Istanbul), within the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain.
We comprise some of the parishes and communities established by Metropolitan Anthony Bloom - when he was Archbishop of Sourozh.
After his death, we chose to be under the Omophorion of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople (Istanbul), which chair is occupied today by Patriarch Bartholomew.

Deanery Events

We have several important events throughout the year that the whole deanery can be involved in.
The Deanery Conference
Children's' Camp
Choir leaders workshop

Our Parishes

All the communities and Parishes in the Deanery are committed to regular services and sacraments, however, each parish and community organise these in their own way. To see if there is a parish near you, go to our parishes page (link below) where you will find a list of all the parishes belonging to the Deanery.

Our People

In keeping with our Statutes, we have a strong team caring for the Deanery, The principle is Our Archbishop of Thyateira,
His Eminence, Archbishop Nikitas, and with him, our Dean Fr. Patrick Hodson and all our beloved Clergy.
We also have several lay people, without whose dedicated work we would not manage. To meet our people and find out more about them use the link below.

Conference and Festival 2026

The theme for this year is the quotation of Christ's from St John's Gospel 14:27.
"My Peace I give unto you"

Christ says that He gives us His peace, carefully underlining that His peace is not the same as the peace that the world gives.  He then goes on to reassure us, and ask of us something important that ties into our ability to receive His peace: not to allow our hearts to be troubled or afraid. We can explore this notion of peace on so many levels.

By focusing on the Peace given to us by Christ, the 2026 Conference & Festival will address some of the ways in which we can start to dispel the anxieties and fears that the Lord so much wants us to leave behind us.
